Le Gauchiste (go-sheest) pays homage to all great things from the left. This Napa Valley blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. Dark cherry, fresh blueberry and cassis notes pop out of the glass immediately, and are underlined by subtle hints of spice, vanilla bean and dark chocolate notes. The palate-entry bursts with ripe raspberry and blackberry elements. The fruit profile is supported by awell-rounded tannin structure that carries the fruit through to an extended finish. In classic Left Bank fashion, the Cabernet Franc blends into the wine to add brightness and a lush tannin profile.Download Order Form View Chinese Specs and Order Form
We commissioned NOLA-based artist, Terrance Osborne (of Jazz-Fest fame), to create a piece of art thatdetailed the culturally rich city of New Orleans. Over the years, Terrance has received numerous awards and commissions because of his ability to depict the city in a way that locals can relate to. Be it art connoisseur or casual collector, Terrance Osborne’s art continues to be highly sought after. In our dedication to the theme, we created a one-of-a-kind wood box that, yes, slants to the left -- a cellar show-stopper with an acrylic lid.
We produced only one barrel of this left-bank inaugural blend, and bottled it in 1.5L magnums, along with five (only five!) hand-etched and painted 5L jerobaums, remarqued by Terrance Osborne. This renders them original pieces of art, and available by special request.
